The roadmap documents a multi-year effort to bring changes to major enterprise initiatives. The roadmap helps group steps, which in turn group projects, so that the succession of projects can show how each contributes to the greater initiative. Usually, more than one project will be required to completely realize a business value. By group steps, the roadmap also correlates the projects so that overall costs can effectively be compared to overall value.
