SERIES CONCEPT

Linen Service Workers perform unskilled, semi-skilled and/or skilled tasks in
a campus laundry or related linen service unit; and perform other related
duties as required.

Incumbents typically receive, check, sort, mark, fold, wrap, pack, distribute,
weigh and/or record laundry items; operate flatwork ironers and/or presses;
clean laundry equipment and work areas; may move and replace laundry baskets;
and may operate and/or regulate laundry conveyer systems.

Classes in the Linen Service Worker series are distinguished from classes in
the Head Linen Service Worker series in that incumbents perform unskilled,
semi-skilled and/or skilled tasks typically without leading or supervisory
responsibilities.

The series consists of two levels. Linen Service Worker is the sub-operational
entry level, and Senior Linen Service Worker is the operational level.
