CLASS CONCEPT

Under supervision, Per Diem Nurses provide temporary professional 
nursing care for an individual patient, supplement the regular nursing 
staff in emergency situations, and perform other related duties as 
required.

Duties performed are similar to those described in the Clinical Nurse 
Series, but positions are temporary in nature.

                    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Incumbents for positions included in the Per Diem Nurse class are 
expected to meet the requirements of graduation from an accredited 
school of nursing and current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the 
State of California; and possess the skills, knowledges, and abilities 
essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the 
position.
